The day everything almost fell apart:
I had attended my 5th interview and I had failed all the interviews. I was a holder of a Masters’ degree in Accounting and I thought getting a job in this market was easy but I was wrong. I was very devastated and I was now having low self-esteem and I had lost all hope in securing a job but I really did not want to be another statistic of graduates who were unemployed.
So, one day, I sat down to critically think what was wrong with me and I came to realize some things one of them being that while growing up I was always told to get good grades and find a good company to work for. Was this a good advice in this information age? I thought. With a vacancy for one post receiving over a thousand applicants, what were my chances of securing a job? Even if I got the job, would it pay me enough to achieve my financial freedom? I realized it was impossible, I needed to find a different strategy.
I discovered that many youths were having the same problem of unemployment as our was so I asked myself, what I could do with my business skills to help empower the youths and from then I created 21st Century Education. The mission of the company is to motivate the youths to change their mindset and start to think outside the box and also offers free business consultation to the youths who have desires in entrepreneurship and also financial literacy. With the use of social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp and Twitter we are able to reach as many youths as possible. The organization has moved further to do research and development to companies so that they move in line with the information age.
